What series of yours should I read first?

Many of my series are connected, but they’re written so they can be enjoyed on their own. My two latest ones—Shadows and Crowns and Flame and Sparrow—are both set in the same world, and technically can be read in any order, but Flame and Sparrow comes first chronologically, so a lot of readers start there!

What age do you recommend your books for?

Most of my books contain some adult content—a medium amount of ’spice’, swearing, and violence. I wouldn’t suggest them for readers under 18.

Are your books available in other languages/territories outside the US?

Yes! Shadows and Crowns is available or forthcoming from the following publishers:

  • UK/Commonwealth: Penguin Random House (Del Rey)
  • Turkey: Olimpos
  • France: Editions Bookmark
  • Russia: Eksmo
  • Italy: Heartbeat Edizioni
  • Brazil: Editora Cabana Vermelha
  • Flame and Sparrow translations are also in the works! More soon...

Can I make/sell merchandise based on your books?

Yes! If you are a smaller vendor (under $15k yearly income), I don’t currrently require licensing for anything based on my books or characters. I only ask that you 1. Tag me in anything you make 2. Be sure to note that I was not involved in the creation of the product.

If you are a larger vendor interested in officially licensed products based on my books or characters, please reach out to me or my assistant.

Can I create art based on your books?

Yes! Same guidelines as the answer above.

Can you read the book I’m writing/give me feedback on it/etc…?

Unfortunately, due to time and legal constraints, I can’t read your unfinished manuscript. If you’re a published author looking for an official blurb, please send your request to my assistant, rachel@smgaitherbooks.com, and she’ll pass it along to me!
